Kiwanis-Staples School Supply Drive (K-S SSD) Club - Store Action Details: 

Part 1 Fund Raising & Increasing Donations at the Store: 

(Our Partner, Staples, as part of their community support program, asks their customers, on check-out during the period of their Back to School Drive whether they would like to contribute to Kiwanis Back to School Programs helping kids in need.)

• The 2025 K-S SSD Campaign starts on July 28  - get ready asap by visiting all stores to make sure they are ready.

• Duplicate Marketing materials to what has been sent to stores by Staples Head Office/Marketing are included here so that you can be helpful in getting these items ready. Stores will print these for their own use.  (See the last bullet below for additonal items to include on Bookmarks etc. only for Clubs with access to a charitable tax number from CRA.)  See Advertising pieces Formatted Staples Details (here and in the Resources Folder

  • Kiwanis Club Actions include:

  • Meet responsible persons at each store and work with them to ensure that the local Club name is included on Bookmark, Banner and Cash Mat advertising pieces and that these items are produced.  Quantities of Bookmarks should enable them to be given out with each/every sale.  Editable fields are included on materials sent out from Staples Head Office/Marketing.

  • Follow up regularly with store staff to ensure they know and/or appreciate that funds raised will support kids in need in their communities.  Some stores may initiate contests among staff – they can all do this!  Remember the individual on the cash may have only limited shifts so meeting more staff, more often, is very helpful!!

  • Work with staff - try to ensure Banners, Bookmarks, Cash Mats. are visible and being used – be tactful – it’s their responsibility and their store!

  • Talk to the Store Manager about in-store displays to help promote the 2025 K-S SSD.

  • **NEW** Expanding Your Projects: Where your Club is set up to collect and give out charitable receipts - i.e. you have a CRA Charitable status # (or can partner with someone who has this), Staples can print up the Bookmarks (etc.) with your Club QR code - facilitating larger donations with tax receipts.  For Set-Up of Tax Receipt process refer to Tax set-Up Details Add File Details
