2026 K-S SSD - Part 1 Fund Raising & Increasing Donations

Part 1 Fund Raising 

Our Partner, Staples, as part of their community support program, asks their customers, on check-out during the period of their School Supply Drive, whether they would like to contribute to Kiwanis and our programs for local students in need. 

● The 2025 K-S SSD (Kiwanis Staples - School Supply Drive) Campaign runs for 3 months, July 5th to September 27th. 

● Marketing Materials are available NOW from Staples Marketing Dept and are being sent directly to each store.  We have a copy of this direction including the graphics so that as representatives of Kiwanis we can ensure or at least double up on the wish of both Kiwanis and Staples that these graphics are used and prominent from beginning to the end of the program! 

The PDF files, for the at least the Cash Mats and the Bookmarks have an editable field, to enter your Kiwanis Club identification (and possibly your Club QR code see next point). Click here for Graphics files and Staples Letter to stores

Where your Club is set up to collect and give out charitable receipts - i.e. you have a CRA Charitable status # (or can partner with someone who has this), Staples can print up the Bookmarks (etc.) with your Club QR code - facilitating larger donations with tax receipts.  Click here for more information about setting up CRA Receipt information.

● Other Club Member Actions include:

• An initial meeting and possible follow up with responsible persons on actions around printing and possible displays (are they visible and being used?) and staff meetings will start the program.

• Follow up regularly (at least weekly) with store staff to ensure they know and/or appreciate that funds raised will support kids in need in your community. Some stores may initiate contests among staff – they can all do this! Remember the individual on the cash may have only limited shifts so meeting more staff, more often, is very helpful. 

• Expanding Your Projects: Where your Club is set up to collect and give out charitable receipts - i.e. you have a CRA Charitable status # (or can partner with someone who has this), Staples can print up the Bookmarks (etc.) with your Club QR code - facilitating larger donations with tax receipts.
